Day 1 Christchurch – Franz Josef   Pick up your rental car this morning. Drive across the Canterbury Plains, crossing the spectacular Southern Alps at Arthur’s Pass. The scenery changes to lush rainforest of the West Coast. Further south at Franz Josef, see the glacier reach from the mountains almost to the ocean. Driving Time Christchurch – Franz Josef approx 6 hours Overnight Franz Josef  Day 2 Franz Josef   A free day to explore this glacier country. This is a good opportunity to do a guided glacier walk (optional) Overnight Franz Josef  Day 3 Franz Josef – Wanaka   The drive south through the rainforest, via Knights Point lookout to Haast Pass is pristine. Head inland via beautiful Lake Hawea to the shores of Lake Wanaka. Driving Time Franz – Wanaka approx 5 hours Overnight Wanaka  Day 4 Wanaka golf at Wanaka - optional Off the tee at 8.30am for a great morning of golf. Spectacular lake and mountain views from the course. The afternoon is free for other leisure activities, perhaps a boat trip on the lake, refreshments by the lakefront or visit a local winery. Overnight Wanaka  Day 5 Wanaka – Queenstown golf at Arrowtown - optional This morning drive over the Crown Range to Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown. If you feel like a round then we suggest the Arrowtown Golf Club which is en route. The rocky outcrops will challenge your score card! Destination is the resort village of Queenstown. Driving Time Wanaka – Queenstown approx 2 hours Overnight Queenstown  Day 6 Queenstown golf at Millbrook Resort Play at the renowned Millbrook Resort this morning, a 15 minute drive from Queenstown. This amazing course is ranked as one of the best in the world so enjoy your game. An 8.30am tee off means you have the afternoon free to enjoy Queenstown’s many sights and attractions. Overnight Queenstown  Day 7 Queenstown – Christchurch   Depart Queenstown via the rugged Kawarau Gorge. Cross the Lindis Pass into the vast landscape of the McKenzie basin, with it’s azure blue alpine lakes of Pukaki and Tekapo. Look for magnificent views of Mount Cook from Lake Pukaki. Driving Time Queenstown – Christchurch approx 6 hours Overnight Christchurch  Day 8 Christchurch golf at Christchurch Today’s highlight is 18 holes at the Christchurch Golf Club, host to previous New Zealand Open Championships. We suggest an early afternoon tee off time. Overnight Christchurch  Day 9 Christchurch – Nelson   Drive north through the North Canterbury vineyards to the rugged Kaikoura Coast. Look out for fur seals sunning themselves on the rocks. The next 2 nights are at Nelson, renowned for its beaches, high sunshine hours, wine and arts and crafts. What a magic combination! Driving Time Christchurch – Nelson approx 6 hours Overnight Nelson  Day 10 Nelson golf at Nelson We suggest a tee off at 9.00am at the Nelson Golf Club, leaving the afternoon free to relax and enjoy some of the region’s attractions. Perhaps a visit to the World of Wearable Art where art and fashion fuse together. Overnight Nelson  Day 11 Nelson – Picton – Wellington   Take the scenic Queen Charlotte Drive route to Picton, skirting the Marlborough Sounds for much of the way. At Picton drop off your rental car at the ferry terminal, then board your ferry for the 3 hour crossing to Wellington, New Zealand’s Capital City. Pick up your next rental car on arrival. Driving Nelson – Picton approx 2 hours Ferry Time Picton - Wellington approx 3 hours Overnight Wellington  Day 12 Wellington – Taupo/Wairakei   Follow the Kapiti Coast north of Wellington, then north via the Tongariro National Park to Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s biggest lake. Spectacular views of Mt Tongariro, Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Ruapehu on the volcanic plateau. Driving Time Wellington – Taupo/ Wairakei approx 5 hours Overnight Taupo/Wairakei  Day 13 Taupo/Wairakei golf at Wairakei Play golf at Wairakei International Golf Course. The thermal activity in the region makes this a very interesting landscape. We suggest a morning at leisure and a tee off time of 1.30pm. Overnight Taupo/Wairakei  Day 14 Taupo/Wairakei – Auckland   A short drive this morning to Rotorua, then through the Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park to Hamilton and north to Auckland Driving Time Taupo – Auckland approx 4 hours Overnight Auckland  Day 15 Auckland – Paihia   Cross the Auckland Harbour Bridge and travel north via Whangarei to Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands. Enjoy an afternoon dolphin cruise to Cape Brett and the Hole in the Rock this afternoon. Your boxed picnic lunch will be on board. Driving Time Auckland – Paihia approx 4 ¼ hours Overnight Paihia  Day 16 Paihia/Waitangi golf at Waitangi A short drive to Waitangi Golf Club to play 18 holes. Enjoy the spectacular views from the course. Overnight Paihia  Day 17 Paihia – North Shore golf at Gulf Harbour - optional Drive south via Whangarei to the beautiful Hibiscus Coast for a round at Gulf Harbour Country Club. Designed by Reobert Trent Jones Jnr and scene of the 1998 World Cup of Golf, this course has magnificent ocean-front holes and spectacular coastal views. Driving Time Paihia – Gulf Harbour approx 3 hours Overnight Orewa/North Shore  Day 18 North Shore – Auckland golf at Titirangi - optional A leisurely day or play an optional round at Titirangi Golf Club in central Auckland. Return your rental car by 5.00pm. Driving Time North Shore – Auckland approx ½ hour
